Thermal Imaging
Since March 2015, Benjel Consultant Chemists Inc. has offered thermal imaging services using infrared cameras. In addition to visual inspection and direct humidity measurements of materials, this tool can be used to push the analysis and understanding of the building even further.

To see clearly
An excellent tool for non-invasive inspection, infrared camera imaging allows us to see what the naked eye can't:
- Water infiltration
- Plumbing leaks
- Inadequate insulation
- Presence of insects or rodents
- Air infiltration or exfiltration
- Gas loss in high efficiency windows
Be careful with the interpretation!
However, interpreting infrared images requires some technical knowledge and one should be wary of certain inferences drawn from infrared images by unqualified people. Among other things, thermal imaging does not allow:
- See mold through the walls
- Detect the above mentioned problems under all conditions
- Identify with certainty the source of leaks or water infiltrations
